Cave Paintings of Lascaux

1. Introduction

We have looked at these cave paintings in a previous lesson.  We have identified a theory that suggests these paintings were a part of a hallucinogenic experience where a 'shaman' would enter an altered state.  This 'shaman' believed he would enter a spirit realm and see animals that he or she admired and had mystic potency.
